Princess Cruises falls in the upper end of the Premium category, offering a high-quality experience with great value. 

Other cruise lines in this category include Celebrity, Holland America, and Virgin Voyages, all providing a more premium experience compared to the entry level options like MSC, Carnival Cruise Line, and P&O Cruises. 

While Princess is probably slightly below Virgin Voyages in terms of luxury, it offers a family-friendly environment, unlike Virgin’s adults-only policy.

This is always a tricky subject because there’s no definitive answer. And hey, who doesn’t shave a few years off when you're on holiday!?

I think couples in their mid-50s are who you’re most likely to bump into on a Princess Cruise. However, this depends on what time of year you’re sailing and which one of their ships you’re sailing on.

I frequently get asked if Princess is an adults-only cruise line. The short answer is no, it’s not. But arguably, you’re likely to find more adults sailing. But it’s worth noting, their new bigger, more vibrant Sphere Class ships with bundles of features and things to do, have really tried to appeal to families.

But it’s safe to say Princess isn’t defined by an adults-only label, like rivals Virgin Voyages or Cunard are. There’s always choice and flexibility with Princess, if you know how to find it. 

Just like its passengers, the Princess dress code is a mix. Smart casual is probably the best description, but this comes with its own vagueness or flexibility, depending on how you look at it.

For example, if you’re on the top deck, enjoying the afternoon sun at the pool, swim/beachwear is totally acceptable. But if you’ve got yourself a reservation at a posh speciality restaurant that evening, dressing up is always the way to go.

You might not be expected to wear black tie (unless stated) but some nice shirts, dresses, blazers and shoes are a must. 

Equally, if you’re headed out a couple of casual drinks, those beloved jeans of yours shouldn’t be a problem.

Despite its upper Premium Class credentials, Princess isn’t all-inclusive. But that’s no bad thing. 

This means you get more flexibility and more savings, getting you onboard without having to pay the cost for all-inclusive food and drink you might not need.

But it just so happens that Princess Plus or Princess Premier all-inclusive packages are some of the best on the market. So, all-inclusive is available but only if you want it.
